Lama Ole Nydahl is today the most important Western teacher of the Karma Kagyu lineage. He has taught the effective methods of Diamond Way Buddhism for 35 years and is a recognized master of Conscious Dying (phowa) and the Great Seal (mahamudra).

He and his wife, Hannah, became students of H.H. 16th Karmapa in 1969. After 3-4 years of intensive studies and meditation in the Himalayas the couple returned to Denmark and began their work in making Buddhism accessible to people of the West. This happened on the explicit request of the 16th Karmapa.

Lama Ole and Hannah Nydahl have been instrumental in spreading Buddhism in the West ever since. They travel around the globe several times a year to hold lectures and courses. Until this date they have founded more than 500 Diamond Way centres and groups all over the world.
