Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche (1919-2003) was the first Buddhist teacher of lama Ole and Hannah Nydahl. He tirelessly supported their work for 36 years and was a great inspiration to everyone who had the good fortune to meet him.
Among his countless activities Rinpoche gave many empowerments to lama Ole’s students at Diamond Way centres in Europe, including at the Lolland Centre, which he visited on several occasions.
Moreover Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche headed the building of 17 stupas in Europe (and one in Mexico), among these the largest stupa in the western world near Málaga in southern Spain.
After venerable Lopon Tsechu Rinpoche passed away in 2003 the giving of empowerments at the European Diamond Way centres has been taken over by Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche.
